average adult-sized head, with the option to reduce the length

the ‘cleanest’ way to change colours is to do it in the slip stitch

Pattern:

With colour 1, Chain 2

In the second chain from the hook, work 8 sc in the same space. Slip stitch

into the first sc to close the round. Ch 1.

Round 1 – 2 sc in each sc in the round (16 sts). Slip stitch into 1st sc and ch 1.

Round 2 – (2sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in next sc) repeat ( ) to end of round (24 sts).

Slip stitch into 1st sc and ch 1.

Round 3 - (2sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in next 2 sc) repeat ( ) to end of round (32 sts).

Slip stitch into 1st sc and ch 1.

Round 4 – (2sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in next 3 sc) repeat ( ) to end of round (40 sts).

Slip stitch into 1st sc and ch 1.

Round 5 – (2sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in next 4 sc) repeat ( ) to end of round (48 sts).

Slip stitch into 1st sc and ch 1.

Round 6 – (2sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in next 5 sc) repeat ( ) to end of round (56 sts).

Slip stitch into 1st sc and ch 1.

Round 7 – (2sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in next 6 sc) repeat ( ) to end of round (64 sts).

Slip stitch into 1st sc and ch 1.

Change to colour 2

Round 8 – (2sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in next 7 sc) repeat ( ) to end of round (72 sts).

Slip stitch into 1st sc and ch 1.

Round 9 – (2 sc in 1st sc, 1sc in next 8 sc) repeat ( ) to end of round (80 sts).

Slip stitch into 1st sc and ch 1.

Change to colour 3

Round 10 - (2 sc in 1st sc, 1sc in next 9 sc) repeat ( ) to end of round (88 sts).

Slip stitch into 1st sc and ch 1.

Rounds 11-12 – 1 sc in each sc in the round (88 sts). Slip stitch into 1st sc

and ch 1.

Round 13 – (2sc in 1st sc, 1sc in next 10sc) repeat ( ) to end of round (96 sts).

Slip stitch into 1st sc and ch 1.

Change to colour 1

Rounds 14-15 – 1 sc in each sc in the round (96 sts). Slip stitch into 1st sc

and ch 1.

Change to colour 4

Rounds 16-21 - 1 sc in each sc in the round (96 sts). Slip stitch into 1st sc

and ch 1.

Change to colour 2

Rounds 22-24 - 1 sc in each sc in the round (96 sts). Slip stitch into 1st sc

and ch 1.

Change to colour 3

Round 25 - 1 sc in each sc in the round (96 sts). Slip stitch into 1st sc

and ch 1.

Change to colour 1

Rounds 26-30 - 1 sc in each sc in the round (96 sts). Slip stitch into 1st sc
